Jefferson Physician Organization

Mission

The Jefferson Physician Organization is dedicated to providing quality, cost-effective healthcare and to assist in the provision of as many healthcare options as possible to improve the well-being of the members in our community.

Our Organization

Established in 1997 by the physician community in Jefferson County, the JPO is an organization that has continuously evolved to meet the needs of its physician members and the patients they serve. The organization focused its early efforts on contracting with health insurers during the era of risk-based reimbursement programs. Over time, new healthcare delivery systems and reimbursement models emerged, and the JPO broadened its focus to include programs designed to enhance the quality and value of healthcare in the North Country.

Today, the JPO manages a portfolio of longstanding payor contracts and pursues new contracting opportunities as they arise. However, much of the organization’s energy and resources are dedicated to helping its members enhance the patient experience, reduce healthcare costs and improve the overall health of their patients. Through collaboration with other community healthcare providers and organizations, the JPO serves as a cornerstone for clinical integration and innovation.
